GPL Day 6 - Judgment Day

As a mark of respect on the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, one of the Devils decided not to participate in their 2nd match against the Gorgeous. And as a mark of protest against the racist attacks on Indian students in Ozland, one of them decided not to play their 3rd match against Smashers as well. So we had an interesting situation on Day 6 of GPL, however Rupa and Kishore bailed them out as substitute players and the games were completed without any hitch.
The top four semi finalists have been decided and the best teams surely seem to have come through to the top. Kudos to the organizers of the tournament for providing an exciting format and ensuring that each and every team and the players get an equal shot at the championship. Not to forget the ample support received from Madhav, Kishore, Prakash, and all the support staff for making this event truly memorable. Way to go Sagar and Viren, guess your guys are already planning for GPL 2 encouraged by the tremendous response received to GPL 1.

Fast & Gorgeous ~ Their run to the semi finals has been quite an eventful one. Hats off to Zamir for having picked up the game so fast in spite of having had no practice at all. Charika gets total credit for having introduced the super hit slogan - "Hit Hit, Flick Flick". And of course for providing her invaluable training tips to all the teams even when they didn't seem to need it. Watch out for her latest training video showcasing the flicking technique.
Titans ~ Emerging as the top ranking team, the Titans Harry and Santosh have had a dream run to the semi finals. Except for having lost only one game in the round robins to the Scorpions they won all their following matches en route to the Semi Finals. Superstars in the making this is the team to watch out for in GPL 2. So prospective franchise owners start working on your bids today...

International Khiladis ~ The most unusual pairing in the tournament, almost like the Govinda and Amitabh jodi, this Bade Miya Chote Miya team has most cleverly and consistently managed to stay on top of the game in spite of some rather tough situations at the Super Six stage.

The Smashers ~ The most entertaining duo of the tournament, they play hard, win hard and lose hard. Kanchan yelling her trademark instructions at DJ Milind - focus..., don't look at their court..., serve slowly..., Yes... Yes..., please please please... f***... So much so that once Milind dropped his Wii Remote on the ground and threatened to walk out of the match. The sport that she was Kanchan picked it up and continued played with both remotes. She actually won that game for the Smashers.

One can really look forward to a great finale to the tournament today, the best teams are in the foray to win Geon's first sporting tournament this year. of course whoever wins the championship one thing is for sure, the entire company is going to celebrate...
