GPL Day 7 - International Khiladis are Jodi No.1

It was indeed quite an achievement that we were able to complete the semi finals and the finals in between all the partying and celebrations that have now become rather synonymous with events at Geon. Well although all the 3 matches were rather one sided but the International Khiladis won both the semi-final against Gorgeous and the final against Titans comprehensively.

Well the verdict is out then folks, the International Khiladis are the undisputed champions of the Geon Premier League 2009. Bade Miya and Chote Miya made mince meat or should I say matar paneer of their opponents. According to Buckley and Gautam the secret is in their vegeterianism, no smokingism, and no drinkingism... Not withstanding at the post match party all these ingredients were available in plentiful...
Titans, touted in all the pre-match polls to be the winners were surprisingly a rather pale shadow of their run to the semis. They lost 0-3 to the Khiladis. Was it the big match nerves, over confidence or simply one two many happy cocktails downed before and during their match. Super Santosh missed almost anything that came down his throat and Hardcore Harry smashed most of his aces into the digital crowds.

The prize distribution ceremony was quite a riot as well, there were prizes for the logo designs, best losers and of course the winners and runners up. We had a special guest for the finals Ms Aflatoon Khanna, she was as excited about handing over the trophies to all the winners as the winners receiving them.



A special award for the most sporting team for their happy go lucky spirit was given to Bold & Beautiful - Abhishek and Lavina. Nishkal took the award on their behalf while Ms Gorgeous presented it to them. The bold and the beautiful indeed...



The wildest wild entry award went to the Ms Chota Peg - Rupa Singh. Her lucky charm worked for all the teams that she was substitued for. Except at the Super Six stage the competition had become rather tough and her charm didn't come good. However she made up for it with loads of enthusiasm and had audiences cheering for her every time she played.


The logo competition was a huge hit with all the participants working pretty hard at putting together concepts and executing designs within the short time and resources. Following are Jon's comments and rankings: "Wow, nice work across the board! All of the work is great. Seriously. We could take any of them and with a little work tune them into world class stuff. Well done. Here's my take:"

Best Pro Logo: "SCORPIONS". I could sew this onto a shirt and people would dig it.
Most Creative: "DILLI NAWABS". I love this logo! It's goofy and fun.
Funniest: "KISS MY ACE". It made me laugh.

According to the polls conducted on fakegplplayer the official results are as follows:
Most Entertaining Players: DJ Milind and Killer Kanchan
Champion Player of GPL: Hardcore Harry
Winner of GPL 2009: International Khiladis (as the Titanic team lost it this time)
