GPL Day 4 - Hit Hit... Flick Flick...

Twas a great day for some fine display of game play between some really really strong teams and some of the dark horses. The crowd jeered vociferously as DJ Milind continued to dish out one nasty hit after another.

As most of the teams near the end of their 5 match rounds the top spots seems to be getting clearer in both the groups. Khiladi’s continue to top Group B with 4 wins on the trot (Don't they look really cool and composed in the picture ~ one can almost hear them chewing through all the way to the finals). And now we have a new leader in Group A ~ Titans who’ve won all their 4 matches in a row as well, not without going through a few hiccups against the Gorgeous in their last match.

The Gorgeous grunts have become a huge hit with everyone and now every shot that Ms Gorgeous played was lustily cheered and jeered ~ “Hit Charika”... “Hit”... “Flick Charika”... “Flick”... “Flick”...

The Smashers too were in their elements, Kanchan was playing like she was in a bull ring. She dodged, parried, yelled, smashed and lashed out at the ball and most times at her partner. From cheering, motivating, to pleading and cajoling, she didn’t leave any stone unturned to get her partner DJ Milind to concentrate on the game rather than his song list. Seems to have worked in her favor majorly, Milind was like a bull, clearly focused on the girl in red skirt – returning her serves with equal panache and fervor. Great fight back from the Smashers, they have managed successfully to stay in the top 4 so far.

Another great upset today as the lowly placed Tigers beat the Aces 3-0. The Andhra Tiger was unavailable so Cub Rupa decided to team up with Shark Kishore. This new combination seems to have worked wonders for the Tigers. The Shark and Cub combined to match the Aces eye for eye, providing a bitter sweet win for the Tigers as they redeemed their earlier losses completely.

They now make it tougher for the Devils to remain in reckoning for the top 3 berths in Group B. The top 3 spots in Group A too is getting tougher what with Gorgeous and Smashers coming through rather tough games in their Group to still remain in the reckoning.

A special mention though needs to be made for the Bold & Beautiful, they have successfully earned the crown of bowing out from the competition in the most graceful and entertaining manner. They stand tall at the bottom of the table by winning their 1 and only point.
