GPL Day 2 - Kungfu moves on display

The excitement continued anew on day 2 of GPL. Although it was well into the weekend but the turnout did seem rather low compared to Day 1. With DJ Milind not showing up , the ear splitting music was missing, however the party pooping, whistling and jeering continued unabashedly. There was so much cheering that one was not sure whether it was for the winning shots or the losing teams.

The surprise package of the day turned out to be “Bold and Beautiful”. Have never seen such true sportsmanship in a game before. They were cheering at almost every point that was won or lost.
Lavina would actually jump and clap every time their team lost a point.

Abhishek definitely was the most entertaining player on that day, especially since DJ Milind decided to take up another assignment with Heavens for the weekend and did not make his appearance on Day 2.
Abhishek was playing his shots like he was at a Tai Chi or Kung Fu session.
Very gentle, calm and graceful, he would pose like the dragon, monkey, or snake after every shot, waiting for applause from the audience. However the match would have progressed into the next point by the time he returned from his striking pose to play the next shot.




Hell Boys were hell bent on losing their matches, they lost both their matches to the Brats and the Titans. They however made a great show of putting up a splendid fight. This was the only team which was having mid-field conferences during every match. Guess they were sharing tips on how to make Hyderabadi Biryani...

Andhra Tiger actually won their first game of the tournament, they beat the B&B 3-0. Or rather, one could say it was B&B who lost the match. You know why right – all the snake, monkey and dragon posing obviously...

International Khiladis kept up their winning streak, they thrashed the Tiger Sharks 3-0. The IK’s seem to be on a roll, they have beaten all the opponents hands down. Get your betting stakes up folks the contest is surely hotting up now.

Titans won both their matches in quick time @ 3-0 and 3-1. They are the top ranking team in Group A so far. However beware guys Scorpions are playing today in Group A, and the Dilli Nawabs are playing in Group B today, so expect some major overhauling in the score board tomorrow...
