GPL Day 1 - Rollicking start to the Championship

The 1st day of the tournament was quite a riotous event. What with DJ Milind rocking the floor with his desi mixes, teams haggling over which player icon to choose, and some players actually blowing party poopers themselves during their own matches...

The most rock solid performers of the day were the International Khiladi’s, what a way to start the tournament with two all out wins and ending up with top scores for the day.

The most entertaining player of the day without any doubt goes to DJ Milind. From rocking the floor with his ear splitting music, grooving between the matches, and throwing the funniest tantrum of the play even before the matches began - “I don’t want to be a girl”, was all he kept saying through out till someone quickly came to the rescue and changed his player icon to a boy :-).

The play of the day definitely goes the the match between Devils n Angels and the International Khiladi’s. Gaurav’s boom boom booming serves, Buckley’s dance like silken returns, Gautam smashing returns and Minal’s most amazing turn around from novice to superstar player.

A special mention needs to be made for the scoreboard, thanks to Sagar, Jegan, and all the team members who got cracking on their team logos and helped put together the colorful chart which displays the matches played, points won and top ranking teams.

The contribution to the prize money came from one and all and the winners purse seems to be getting rather fat now. So all you champions now have a greater incentive to win the tournament. We are definitely expecting more contributions coming from members who are not playing in the tournament as well. Notably, Natasha who contributed to the kitty without a seconds hesitation.

Great start to the championship folks.... Keep up the energy you Devils, Smashers, Khiladis, Titans, Scorpions, Nawabs, Brats, Aces, Tigers, Boys, Gorgeous and the Beautifuls :-).
